Items Needed:
*Empty 2 Liter plastic
bottle
*Duct tape
*3-inch piece of 9/16 inch (outside measurement)
by 3/8inch (inside measurement) clear vinyl tubing
*PVC pipe, ½ inch
diameter cut into 12-inch tube
*3 foot piece 7/8 x 5/8inch vinyl
tubing
*8 1/2 X 11 paper, any color
*PVC pipe
cut into 12-inch tube
*White square stickers (1x1 is best), or scotch
tape
*Cardboard or any slightly heavy paper
Directions:
The Launcher:
*Insert 3-inch tube partially into pcv tube; attach 3 ft tube to pcv connecting all three together. Secure seams well with duct tape.
*Connect other end of 3-foot tubing to bottle mouth. Secure well with duct tape. You now have your launcher.
The Rocket:
*Wrap paper around tube loosely, use stickers (tape) to secure, remove from tube
*Make a nose cone with triangle shaped paper, secure to paper tube. Nose should be air tight on rocket tube.
*Use heavier paper to make wings. Stack 3 pieces of
paper and cut out together so the wings are the same
size
*Use stickers (tape)
to secure wings on tube.
*Color and design as you like.
Launching: Blow into Launcher inflating plastic bottle. Attach rocket to other end and stomp to launch! Blast off!!
