On 7th September 2016, the Associated Press reported that an arrest warrant issued by a judge in Morton County, North Dakota for presidential candidate of Green Party Jill Stein. Stein and candidate for vice president Ajamu Baraka were charged with transgression violation and criminal misbehavior. The Associated Press also indicated that Stein and Baraka were allegedly involved in spray painting on a bulldozer at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe during a protest against a supposed oil pipeline. It is important that Tribe has disapproved the supposed pipeline due to they are scared that it will destroy their spiritual lands and pollute their drinking water. A federal judge has granted emergency request of Tribe on 6th September 2016 to stop construction immediately on a specific segment of the supposed pipeline in North Dakota.

The New York Times also reported that the protesters were shouted from Native American tribes across the country and they gathered near a field used by the engineers of Army Corps. The Associated Press reported that Stein wrote words with red spray paint “I approve this message” and Baraka also painted words “decolonization” on some parts of construction equipments. Stein said in a press statement before imposing charges on her, she said “I hope that authorities will impose charges against actual destruction happening at the reservation of Standing Rock Sioux. They are destructing the sanctified burial sites and the discharging of wild attack dogs. Point to be noted that the crude oil pipeline will be deployed crosswise four states.
