The companies accounting for $200bn in software spending

flexaFlexera and IDC analyzed on the state of software market and this year in spite of focusing on cost of licensing Flexera asked its users their experience to work with these software companies.  The researchers asked the opinion of the users on a couple of companies who are almost 50 percent of the market share Oracle, Adobe, EMC, CA, Citrix, , HP, Microsoft, SAP, IBM, Symantec, VMware and Sales force. These companies collectively have the software spending of more than $ 200bn.

According to the result of this survey Oracle came at the bottom and 69 percent were agreed that the EMC was the vendor which is most easy to work with but in contrast when the Oracle users were asked the same 49 percent agreed to it and 43 percent totally disagreed.

VMware scored 91 percent believing that VMware’s applications are easy to manage, maintain and upgrade while Oracle scored 35 percent.  89.9 percent respondents of the survey agreed that Hp’s licensing rules are simple and maintainable while Citrix had the 89.6 percent to agree on its easy rules and here too Oracle scored lowest. Citrix users were happy and they agreed that they hardly face software license compliance audits from Citrix as a result it was 94 percent in this category. Over all survey concludes Oracle having the lowest percentage scores as compared to the rest of other softwares.
