First Successful Transplant of Uterus in the United States

A team of surgeons have achieved an amazing target for the first time in the history of the United States. The surgeons from Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas has performed the first uterus transplants from living donors with the help of Swedish surgical team. This experimental operation took place between 14th September and 22nd September 2016 and they operated four transplants. Point to be noted that first three transplants were unsuccessful, but 4th transplant presented a much positive result. The first three transplanted uteri were removed from the patients and the tests of 4th patient showed excellent blood flow to the uterus without any infection or negative reaction.

A statement from the Baylor University Medical Center explained that they were vigilantly hopeful that 4th patient will be the first recipient of uterine transplant in the United States. It is important that at least 16 uterine transplants have been performed in the world and Swedish team assisted to the doctors of Baylor with their top experts in this field of surgery. The Swedish team said that they have collected most valuable information from first three unsuccessful transplants.  The information would provide more help for better transplant in the future. A team of surgeons form Cleveland Clinic performed the 1st uterus transplant in the United States in the month of February 2016. They removed her organ after two unsuccessful pregnancies of a 26 years old woman after a couple of months.
