Heavy Flooding badly affected Mississippi and Louisiana States

Historic flooding across the Southern and Central area of the Louisiana state and at least 7 thousand people have been rescued in the state. Reports indicated that at least 4 people have lost their lives in the floods and a large number of people are still missing. The Governor of Louisiana announced a state of emergency after heavy flooding. The communication director for the office of Homeland Security & Emergency of Louisiana Governor Mike Steele said in a telephonic interview that there was a heavy mess up in flood rescues overnight and most of the Baton Rouge into Denham Springs. He further added that “we are still in the situation where tourists are stuck on I-12 and we are still unable to reach them at St. Tammany Parish.

Flooding in Louisiana

Steele further said that the entire roadway system from Baton Rouge to St. Tammany Parish is still closed. The police of Louisiana State are delivering supplies by airlifting to those stuck along the interstate. The state of emergency has been declared by at least 4 more counties in the southern Mississippi. Thousands of people rescued from rapidly-rising floodwater in both Louisiana and Mississippi states. The news outlet of Louisiana State WAFB indicated in a video on 13th August 2016 by showing a 26-years old man David Phung saved a woman and her dog also rescued many other people. Point to be noted that New Orleans was overwhelmed in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina. The area about 90 thousand square miles of the United States was affected badly and thousands were died in this disaster.
