New World Speed Record 2017 Awarded to BUGATTI

The President of BUGATTI, Wolfgang Dürheimer has announced at IAA motor show in Frankfurt that Chiron has achieved a new world record for BUGATTI. The former Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya recently joined BUGATTI for a special ride in order to break a new world record. He took the BUGATTI Chiron from 0 to 400 km/h and back to 0 in just 41.96 seconds. It took 32.6 seconds to reach 400 km/h and stop at 9.3 seconds with covering a distance of just over 3 kilometer and a G-force of 2g to stop. Dürheimer further indicated that it has been considered the fastest time up to the present day to be reached and officially measured for this driving maneuver throughout the world.

He added that more than 300 Chiron vehicles of a total limited production run of 500 vehicles have been sold to date. The first vehicles have been delivered to the customers by the month of March 2017 and up to a further 70 vehicles will be finalized by the end of current year. The technology of the vehicles limits its top speed for street driving to 420 km/h. Moreover, Dürheimer also said that BUGATTI has been famous for challenging and ambitious with greater speeds. He also hinted at 450 km/h and invited Montoya to be return for another world speed record attempt in 2018. There are various other famous auto-manufacturers looking to break the top-speed world record in 2018.
