The Mexico City Mayor, Miguel Angel Mancera has announced their new hybrid-electric taxis include WiFi and a special “Panic” button for passengers. After the activation of this special button, the officials will be alerted about your location and an immediate help will be provided in any case of emergency. It is very similar to the Uber, as the company offered this feature in India, a couple of years ago.

The major difference was supposed that the Panic button of ridesharing service is added into its app. It was said that currently just 100 finalized taxis will be able to travel on the road. Mancera also indicated that more vehicles will join very soon, but the major aim will be to fully equip the entire fleet with this technology in coming 10-12 years. He further indicated that each hybrid vehicle is expected to decrease at least 45 percent dangerous gas emissions. It has been considered a crucial element for a polluted place such as the Mexico City. Point to be noted that most of the riders will be able to get access to an advanced app. They can use it to call a taxi and get fixed fares of the vehicles.
