US President Donald Trump has allegedly claimed the left-wing activists for the violent protests in Minneapolis and other cities across the United States. He also declared that his administration will move to designate the loose association of militant left-wing. It is noteworthy that anti-fascist demonstrators commonly known as Antifa (a terrorist organization). On Sunday, President posted a series of tweets and said, “The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization”. He blamed those elements for violent outbreaks and rioting at police brutality protests across America over the weekend. On Saturday, the president lauded the Minnesota National Guard for its efforts to keep the peace at protests in the state.

Trump said on Sunday, “Congratulations to our National Guard for the great job they did immediately upon arriving in Minneapolis, Minnesota, last night. The Antifa led anarchists, among others, were shut down quickly”. Point to be noted that the attorney general William Barr empowered the president’s notions that left-wing elements are responsible for violent clashes with law enforcement. He said, “In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized, and driven by far-left extremist groups and anarchic groups using Antifa-like tactics”. Moreover, the local political leaders in Minneapolis have emphasized that white supremacists and other malign outside actors have also been responsible for inciting violence at protests there.

The Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey issued a statement on Saturday and said, “We are now confronting white supremacists, members of organized crime, out of state instigators, and possibly even foreign actors to destroy and destabilize our city and our region”. The state officials have claimed that more than 80% of those arrested in Minneapolis were from out of state. Many of the protesters, both black and white said they were from the 2-cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. On 25th May, a black man 46-years old, died after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for several minutes even though Floyd didn’t have a weapon and complained he couldn’t breathe. Chauvin was arrested on Friday and charged with 3rd-degree murder.
