The LGBT blog “PinkNews” reported on 12th September 2016 that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump had participated an event arranged by a listed “anti-LGBT hate group”, a number of Republican candidates had disregarded for more than a decade. It has been confirmed that the Family Research Council arranged the annual Values Voter summit and it is listed as an anti-LGBT extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The alleged claim that the event was disregarded by a number of Republican presidential candidates for last one decade was unproved. A key voting bloc remain for the party by the evangelical Christians and the Values Voter summit has been considered one of the major events for lawmakers of Republicans.

Point to be noted that Value Voter summit was launched in 2006 and now it is the time of presidential elections 2016. The Value Voter summit was held between 9th September to 11th September 2016 and it was attended by Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus and Republican candidate for presidential elections 2016 Donald Trump. The Republican nominee Mitt Romney and his running mate Wisconsin Paul Ryan addressed the summit by a video-recorded message. Point to be noted that Romney attended the summit in 2011, but he was not candidate at that time. The Senator John McCain from Arizona and his running mate Sarah Palin were also invited for the summit, but they were unable to participate in the event. Donald Trump gave his stump speech flattering FRC president Tony Perkins and blasted his opponent Democrat candidate for presidential election Hillary Clinton.
