Amazon has planned to launch a new invitation-based ordering mechanism for high-demand with low-supply products. The company informed a news outlet that the key objective of the new program is to support and avoid inventory shortages. However, the robot traffic for high-demand products with low stocks has caused a significant increase in the price.

The company said its main objective is to confirm the ability of actual customers to purchase these kinds of items. Amazon has launched a new program in the United States. The company will start the new program by selling the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 game consoles. The vice president of consumer engagement at Amazon, Llew Mason issued a statement.

Mason said the company is working hard every day to deliver customers with low prices, massive selection, and rapid delivery. The program includes development in the shopping experience for customers. They can purchase their desired items without experiencing troubles from bad entities. Keep in mind that most sellers and retailers were buying and selling items at a much higher price.

Customers can Request an Invitation to Purchase

The new option will enable customers to request an invitation to purchase high-demand products from the list without additional cost. Moreover, Amazon account customers can also request an invitation to buy the product. It clearly indicates that they are able to send a request without the need for a Prime account. 

Amazon also provided an image showing items that are part of the new program. However, the available items in the list are available only with an invitation option. The product page provided also pointed out that all are high-demand items with limited quantities. The point is to be noted that the company will not be able to grant all requests.

The Invitation option is just for Genuine Customers

Meanwhile, Amazon will also remove any bot-like submissions and send invitations to remaining customers. It will ensure that only actual customers collect invitations to buy products. Moreover, the company will also confirm genuine customers after considering various factors. It includes their previous purchase history and the time of account creation.

The customers will receive an email with directions on how to buy the product after granting the invitation to purchase. The email will also inform them how long they have to finalize the purchase. They will also receive a link to their desired item to place the order. People can also add the product to their cart or select the Buy Now option after reaching the product page.

Moreover, the product page will also inform them how many hours they have before the expiry of their invitation. Amazon seeks to grant more invitations to buy items after receiving more item units in the stock. The company said bad actors were participating with a small percentage of activity in its marketplace. Amazon will prevent them from skeptically affecting the shopping experience for customers.

The new ordering program will provide Amazon customers with a better opportunity in getting high-demand items in limited quantities. The major objective is to terminate bad actors buying products and reselling them at higher prices. The scenario was happening with gaming consoles over the past couple of years. The new option is now available for the PlayStation 5 in the US. The company will offer the opportunity for the Xbox Series X in the next couple of days.
