Bloomberg and Electrek reported that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken essential measures against his employees working from home. He forwarded an email to the executive staff of the company with the subject “Remote work is no longer acceptable”. Musk said all employees make sure to spend at least 40 hours per week in the office or quit Tesla.

Musk also said this should become the main Tesla office and not a remote branch office. He responded to a screenshot of the supposed email that surfaced on Twitter. Musk didn’t reject the accuracy of the email and responded. He said anyone who fails to agree with the new policy implemented in the office should find another workplace.Elon Musk Tesla

Press Office of Tesla will disclose New Policy

However, Tesla didn’t immediately comment but confirmed the press office will disclose the new policy. Musk also said in his email that he is also considering receiving requests to work remotely for specific reasons. But he pointed out that such requests will be considered exceptional for the approval. Musk also wrote that he will personally review and approve those exceptions.

Meanwhile, this is almost impossible if there are specific backers for exceptional cases. He added that 40 hours working for employees is less than the company asked from its factory workers. The CEO also reportedly claimed that his own history has shown his spending time in Tesla. His spending most of the time in the Tesla factory was the major reason behind the company’s survival and success.

Musk forced employees to Work in the Office

Musk said your presence is most important if you are a senior employee. He added that there are many companies that don’t need this measure. But it is essential for Tesla because we need to present great new products. Most companies are now considering how they bring back their employees into the office while working from home.

It is important that the global pandemic pushed various companies to urgently implement remote working policies. However, those measures reflected bad impacts on most companies as they ultimately experienced a decline in their annual revenues. Some tech firms, such as Apple started working with a hybrid strategy. It involved employees coming into the office randomly or just part of the week.

New Work Guideline for Tesla Employees

Musk also wrote that the company will assume you have resigned if you don’t appear properly and timely. However, Tesla allowed work from home or remote working for every possible role since the coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020. The CEO of Tesla is also known for his hard work expectations. He has pushed its factory workers to meet extraordinarily targeted production objectives.

Most of the other major tech companies aren’t putting pressure on workers or forcing them back to the office. Musk mentioned employees to the great resignation if they don’t meet the new working policy of 40 hours per week. However, other big tech firms such as Apple, Amazon, Meta, and Alphabet allowed some workers to work remotely. But it depends on the position and location of the employees.
