Trump has taken a personal interest in unseating Tester (Montana’s senator since 2007) after he helped to derail the appointment of Jackson by making public claims of alleged misconduct from the nominee in the month of April. Jackson is the former White House doctor and he has denied allegations of drunken behavior, overprescribing prescription drugs and fostering a hostile work environment. He has staked his campaign on those voters coming out for him in November’s midterms. Tester has denied the claim that he had changed since he took office. He said that Republicans employed similar strategies during the campaigns as he won in 2006 and 2012.
