Controversy starts after every mass shooting event in America regarding the gun control regulations and its implementations. The shooting event on 1st October 2015 at Umpqua Community College in Oregon killed at least 9 people. These debates normally feature both sides and presents charts with the comparison of violent crime and homicide rates in different countries with permitted and restricted gun ownership laws. The debates on the shooting event at Umpqua Community College circulated widely online. It brought to make the point that both countries Honduras and Switzerland have almost the equal population, but both have different laws and homicide rate about gun ownership.

The gun ownership is considered mandatory in Switzerland and has the lowest homicide rate in the world. Switzerland is a small landlocked country at the Western Europe. Three major countries are at its border France, Germany and Italy. The population of Switzerland is also small and this country at 96th position in the world according to the population and at 134th position according to the size, in the world. If we talk about GDP, the ranking is in top 20. The other side, Honduras is a country of Central America and it is 3 times bigger in size compared to the Switzerland. Its coasts are along with the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. This is lower and middle income country with increasing poverty and many other challenges. Its GDP is just 2.5% and it has three neighbor countries Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador, the economic condition is almost similar to Switzerland.
