Multiple reports have confirmed that Twitter silently changed a disputed decision the company imposed last week. The social platform restored the text of deleted tweets linked on external websites. A Twitter user @RuinDig first mentioned the sudden change.

A web developer Kevin Marks originally entitled attention to the reverse in a blog post. She criticized Twitter for interfering with the public record. The platform deliberately camouflaged the text encased deleted tweets with JavaScript. However, deleted hidden tweets were able to display their text content in the previous version.

Senior product manager of Twitter, Eleanor Harding said the platform was looking to better respect the feedback of its users. The company has now blocked deleted tweets archived on the web. However, Twitter received extensive pushback from open web developers and supporters. They suggested Twitter went too far after changing embedded deleted tweets to camouflage their text.

It is important that Twitter acquires the head of consumer product for the social media giant, OpenBack. The social media platform OpenBack is a Dublin-based mobile engagement platform. However, Twitter didn’t disclose the financial terms of this supposed deal. Twitter’s Bluebird product team will collaborate with the OpenBack team.

Their key focus is to enhance notifications on the social media platform. The social media platform OpenBack was established in 2015. It said OpenBack and its efficient team are joining Twitter to support improving the capability to deliver the perfect notifications. The CEO of OpenBack, David Shackleton said the key aim of the platform was to make ‘truly user first’ notifications. However, Twitter said OpenBack will slow down its business after moving the team over to Twitter’s social platform.

OpenBack will shut down on April 19, 2022

The website of OpenBack also confirmed and announced that the company is closing its business on April 19. The homepage of OpenBack said the company is delighted to announce that it is now joining Twitter.

The OpenBack team is also excited to become part of Twitter to build the future of notifications. Moreover, Twitter has announced a number of acquisitions during the past couple of years to empower its platform. Twitter acquired Quill in December, Threader in November, and Sphere in October.
