New Polls show unbelievable results as Trump to resume its Election Campaign

US President Donald Trump has been hit by a rash of polls showing Joe Biden pulling ahead of him. Now, a new survey conducted by Scott Rasmussen shows him falling behind Biden nationally by 12 points. The results of Rasmussen said Biden would win 48% of the national vote to Trump’s 36 if their election were held today. It might create tension for any sitting president to polls at less than 40% at this point in the election, but Trump is especially invested in his own numbers, which he regularly shows off on Twitter. The latest poll will be particularly galling for the president given it comes from Rasmussen. The company is one of the only pollsters whose results Trump routinely cites when celebrating his own numbers.

The company was an outlier in predicting he would win the 2016 election. Moreover, the company has previously been criticized for its methodology. Some say it tends to produce Republican-tilted results. The prediction of the company for that election was indeed one of the closest among the major pollsters, but it didn’t predict Trump would win the popular vote. Biden’s numbers are holding up steadily across numerous polls, and not just nationally. The recent surveys show him almost tying Trump in Iowa, which Hillary Clinton lost badly, and trouncing the president in Michigan, one of Trump’s most important and narrowest victories.

Biden is now polling slightly better against Trump across the board than Hillary Clinton. Moreover, the comparison is somewhat muddled by the advent of the coronavirus epidemic and knock-on recession and the relatively early and smooth end to the Democratic primary. It is noteworthy that the Trump campaign recently demanded CNN retract a poll which showed the president losing to Biden by 14 points. The administration also threatened the network with legal action for a stunt and a phony poll to cause voter suppression, stifle momentum, and enthusiasm for the president and presenting a false view generally of the actual support across America for the president.
