The Secretary of U.S Treasury had announced earlier that a plan was made to replace the portrait of Alexander Hamilton from the 10 U.S dollars, but it was changed. The U.S Treasury Department received aggressive, unanticipated counterattack against this decision. Most of them said thanks to the famous Broadway role regarding the life of Hamilton and his participation as the first Secretary of the U.S Treasury Department. The U.S Treasury also confirmed that the portrait of Alexander Hamilton didn’t replace, but the portrait of Andrew Jackson will be replaced by 20 U.S dollars, so the claim by the protesters was considered false.

The Department also pointed out that the image of Alexander Jackson will be still on the back side. It was also indicated by the New York Times that no-one projected that founder secretary of the Treasury Department would become a Broadway darling at the time when the current Secretary of the U.S Treasury Department Jacob J. Lew initially announced about the replacement of the portrait of Alexander Hamilton. Point to be noted that the U.S Treasury Department had announced plan for rolling out new bills of 5 U.S dollars including to sustain the portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the portrait of Martin Luther King Junior, Eleanor Roosevelt and Marian Anderson will be at the back. The Department also indicated that 10 U.S dollars bills would remain the same including Sojourner Truth, Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Candy Stanton, Alice Paul and Susan B. Anthony.
