At least 100 publications across the United States will publish editorials against repeated attacks on the press from the U.S President Donald Trump. This move will be a part of an organized effort by the editorial board of Boston Globe to expose the claim of Trump that the media is the enemy of the American people. Each newspaper involved in the campaign will publish their own unique editorial exposing and contesting such criticisms, and it will arrive on newsstands on Thursday, 16^th August 2018. The Boston Globe issued a statement calling on other newspapers to join the effort. The editorial board wrote in its statement that the major purpose to publish an editorial on 16^th August will show the dangers of the assault of Trump administration on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date.

Point to be noted that the Boston Globe was joined by the American Society of News Editors, the Press Association, the New England Newspaper and other press groups who helped in raising awareness surrounding the editorial campaign. The deputy editorial page editor of the Boston Globe, Marjorie Pritchard informed CNN that the response has been overwhelming after the newspaper started the nationwide campaign only a few days ago. Pritchard added that there are at least 100 publications signed up, and it is expected that these numbers will be increased during coming days. There are some big newspapers, but the majority is from smaller markets and all enthusiastic regarding standing up against the assault of Trump on journalism.
