Corning Glass Museum always remained a point of interest for travelers all over the world. The museum started in a very modest way in 1951 but now it has more than 50,000 pieces of glass of art for its visitors to view. Since its formation, the museum passed through three major expansion plans in Corning. Despite of three major expansion phases, the glass museum is still planning expansion. The new wing of the glass museum is going to start on March next year with the initial cost of $64 million.

Thomas Phifer the designer and architecture from New York is the contractor for these new wings of Corning glass museum. Mr. Thomas said maintenance of light while designing structure for new wing will be a challenge for him because right is the most important element of the shine of the museum. Thomas believes that his company will have to employ more than 5000 workers for this project to compete it within specified period of time. Mr. Thomas presents the engineering company who has reputed fame in New York in the engineering industry. The last wing of the museum was also designed and architecture by the Thomas company.
