The journey to Triund begins at Mcleodganj. Any vehicle should end at the Galu temple. You have many options to get to Galu. You can start the trek from Mcleodganj, or take a taxi or auto to the Galu temple. You can also start this hike at the Bhagsunag falls.

Triund’s trek, hike, or trail is mostly moderately difficult and well-marked. The trail winds through beautiful forests. The trek is easy, except for a few patches. You can find tea shacks and small shops along the route to the Triund, where you can buy Maggi and other teas.

Trekking to Triund

Halfway through the trek, there is a stunning viewpoint from which you can see beautiful aerial views over the Dhauladhars. Triund’s sunset and sunrise are stunning, and you will love them even more if you like photography.

It is as follows: Delhi to Mcleodganj then to Bhagsu Na, then to Triund, and then back to Delhi.

McleodGanj and Dharamshala regard Triund as their “hearts” or “crowns.” It takes approximately 9-10 km to trek from McleodGanj, Himachal Pradesh, to Triund. Triund offers breathtaking views with the Dhauladhar ranges on one side and Kangra Valley on the other.

This is a beautiful woods walk that everyone can enjoy. It is a popular choice for beginners in Himachal Pradesh.

Altitude:

Triund is situated at an elevation of approximately 2828m (9350ft) at the foothills of the Himalayan Dhauladhar mountains.

Triund ATM Access and Mobile Signal Strength:

Mcleodganj is the last place where ATMs are available. Therefore, ensure you have enough cash on hand.

Mcleodganj can access all cellular networks. Triund is missing an important link. The network is often unstable. It is better to disconnect for a brief time and give it a try. BSNL is best used in the Himalayas.

Triund Offers to Lodge:

Triund offers tents for rent at Rs 300-500 per head. However, there may be limited availability. You can transport and set up tents at Triund. The Forest Rest House is also available, but reservations can be difficult to make.

There are very few rooms so you need to book your stay at the Forest Rest House in Dharamshala. Local travel agents in McleodGanj can help you arrange your stay and transport your camping gear up to the top.

McleodGanj shops also offer equipment for rent, including trekking and camping gear. It is best to rent equipment for hiking, trekking, or traveling in the Himalayas. Quechua tents can usually be purchased online from Amazon India.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Volvo Bus From Delhi to Mcleodganj Night

Enjoy a luxury evening bus ride from Delhi to the hills, and then relax before embarking upon one of the most memorable adventures of your entire life.

Day 2: Hike to Top of the Triund  (9 Km)

We started our journey from the office after we arrived in McLeod Ganj at 6:00 AM. The journey begins in McLeodGanj (the DalaiLama’s hometown) and continues uphill for 9 km. The climb will take about 4-5 hours, with lunch en route. It is relatively easy with some steep ascents and stunning views. After exploring the ridge, we returned to our campsite (1km below the ridge), to cook a hot meal to keep warm from the strong evening winds. After a satisfying meal, you can retire to your camp bed.

Day 3: Trek from Triund Towards Mcleodganj. Mcleodganj Returns to Delhi After the Sightseeing

We rise early to witness one of the most stunning sunrises, with the sun shining over the Dhauladhar Mountains. We will start our descent after breakfast. It will be easier and more efficient than the ascent. There are many shops in McLeodGanj that sell beautiful trinkets like healing crystal jewelry or colorful yak wool clothing. You will return to Delhi with warm memories of your memorable vacation on the evening Volvo bus.

Additional Tips and Suggestions for the Triund Trek:

You can do this trek without a guide or porter. For the most part, the trail is well-marked. Do not go off-road. Some challenges can arise while you’re trekking through the snow.

Regular athletic shoes are sufficient for this trek. However, hiking and trekking shoes with ankle height will protect your ankles against twists and injury.
