The Author of “Watership Down”, Richard Adams has Died

The author of the semi children novel “Watership Down”, Richard Adams has passed away on 24th December 2016. The official website of the book declared the death of Adams on 27th December 2016. A brief statement on the website of book indicated that, much loved family of Richard Adams has announced with sadness that their father, grandfather and great-grandfather has passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve at 10 pm at the age of 96. He was born in Newbury, Berkshire in England. At the time when he was working in British Civil Service, he also served in the World War II. He started working at “Hi Book” in 1952, which was arranged and managed for stories told to his daughters during long drives.

He said in his interview in 2008 that “One day we were moving to Straffor-upon-Avon to see Judi Dench. I said anything to my elder daughter (she was just 8 years old). She said that “Daddy, now we are going on a long drive, so we need to tell us an entirely new story, specific one that we have never heard before”. The Book will go on to be accepted for various platforms, such as an animated film of 1978 nominated for a Hugo Award. There will be a new animated adaptation has been scheduled to be released in the year 2017. There are a number of works of Adams that will go on to publish, such as the follow-up “Tales from Watership Down” and its autobiography.
