A number of news reports have indicated that President Trump had already received a positive result himself from a rapid test when he appeared on Fox News, but he was still waiting on a more reliable test. Bloomberg News tweeted at 8.09 pm about Hicks testing positive, just before the President appeared on Fox News. Point to be noted that the White House or Hicks hadn’t yet issued any public statement about it. President Trump was asked about Hicks from the news channel. He responded and said, “So she did test positive. I just heard about this. She tested positive. She’s a hard worker, a lot of masks. So she wears masks a lot, but she tested positive”.

President added, “And I just went out with a test because we spend a lot of time and the First Lady just went out with a test also”. The Washington Post also reported that Trump’s interview and his coronavirus diagnosis led to the assumption that Hicks was patient zero within the White House and it caused her great frustration. It is noteworthy that the Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel had tested positive on 30th September, just a day before Hicks’s diagnosis. McDaniel met President Trump on 25th September during the Rose Garden event. The event took place to announce the Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett.
