WSAZ 3 News has reported that the Director of the Clay County Development Corporation in Clay, West Virginia has been removed from her position due to posting a message on her Facebook page commenting on First Lady Michelle Obama as the “Ape in Heels”. The terminated director Pamela Ramsey Taylor posted comment on her Facebook after the victory of Donald J. Trump in the U.S Presidential Election 2016. Taylor further added in her post that “It will be so refreshing to have a beautiful, classy and dignified First Lady back in the White House because I’m tired to see an Ape in Heels”. The Washington Post reported that she apologized for her action.

Taylor said that her comment wasn’t projected to present discrimination and I am truly sorry for any bad expressions caused by my comment. The Gazette-Mail reported that a number of local and state officials have condemned her remarks regarding First Lady. They also apologized to the U.S President and First Lady for her action. The vice chairman of the Clay Democratic Executive Committee, Joe Murphy said that he was very disappointed when he heard about Taylor’s comments. He said that Michelle Obama is one of the most graceful personalities among the first ladies in the American history. He added that West Virginia Democratic Party will continue to fight against discrimination and Taylor’s words don’t present the ideas of West Virginia.
