The host of a talk show Glenn Beck published a tweeted and reproduced news article on 16^th May 2016 and reported that a group of pediatricians declared that tolerating or promoting gender and feeling the emotional condition of anyone for psychological identity checking as male or female would be reverse of someone’s biological sex and it would increase child abuse. Most of the visitors believed that the American Academy of Pediatrics had taken a step on childhood gender. But, the published tweet mentioned a link of an article with the statement of the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) not the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

The ACPeds is considered a small group recently formed against the political dissatisfaction on the same-sex parenting, but not specifically focused on pediatrics or abuse of children. It is important that this group was classified as hate group by the Law Center of the Southern Poverty. Point to be noted that AAP and ACPeds are entirely different groups. The estimated membership of ACPeds is 70 to 200 pediatricians. The membership of AAP was also estimated at more than 64,000 physicians. The ACPeds declared its mission that any material would be political nature instead of medical. It is also said that the statement regarding Gender Ideology should not be considered the first effort made my ACPeds. The group issued a statement in the month of January 2016 about fake and dangerous information regarding HPV vaccine.
