The U.S President Donald Trump remains under fire for his racist tweets telling 4 Democratic congresswomen to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came”. The Republican governor of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker is the latest to break ranks and attack Trump’s shameful, racist, disgraceful comments. He blamed the president of bringing disgrace to public policy and public life. It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives also voted on Tuesday evening in favor of a resolution condemning Trump’s posts, doing so largely along partisan lines with only 4 GOP congressmen finding the courage to cross the aisle.

Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota came in the U.S 2 decades ago as a refugee from Somalia. The resolution said, “Donald Trump’s racist comments have legitimized fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color”. They strongly condemned his remarks that said, “our fellow Americans who are immigrants, and those who may look to the president like immigrants, should ‘go back’ to other countries”.
