A phone call from Trump to French President went bad

CNN reported that a tainted call took place last week regarding trade and migration between the U.S President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron. The French President openly criticized the policies of Donald Trump. Two sources informed CNN about the call and one of them that it wasn’t just bad but terrible. French President was thinking that he will be able to speak openly due to the relationship between both leaders. But, Trump wasn’t able to handle such kind of criticized call. A short statement was issued by the White House about the Trump’s call to Macron and said that discussion between both leaders was mainly focused on trade and immigration. Point to be noted that both presidents discussed in Libya about the migration issues and agreed on timelines to solve the problems.

Trump Call to Macron

The U.S President Trump stressed the need to reallocate trade with Europe. Trump also made a similar call to the British Prime Minister Theresa May. A source said that May doesn’t have a combative style, but she was expected to be direct in her criticisms and Donald Trump was expecting a hard conversation. Both sides discussed the tariffs imposed by Trump administration on American allies, including the European Union, Canada, and Mexico. The British Prime Minister pointed out the issued about the U.S decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports of the European Union. She also said that the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union are very close national security allies. Macron also said that France understands the U.S decision to confirm tariffs in steel and aluminum.
