A website “Now8News” published an article on 19^th April 2016 and reported that a woman resident of California caused a ten-car pileup when she was eating and found Jesus in a candy bar. A 33 year old woman resident of Barstow, California Marlo Thomas claimed that an accident took place on the highway and it was related to a photograph in which she saw Jesus in a Kit Kat candy bar. This claim was reproduced widely on most of the unreliable viral news websites after its publishing. But, most of them altered details such as the location of accident. We found that published image was originally published in the year 2008 of a multi-car crash.

Point to be noted that the original image was not related to the story regarding a woman saw Jesus in a Kit Kat candy bar. It is important that most of the websites including Now8News don’t have a disclaimer to warn its readers about their contents that all their contents are entirely fabricated. Some of the previous fake publications include “A pig was sexually assaulted by a man at a WalMart bathroom”, “WalMart bananas contains harmful parasitic worms”, “A man killed his unfaithful fiancée”, “A woman caught at WalMart during a sex act with a sausage” and “ A man found cannibalizing a teen inside a haunted house attraction”.
