Last May, Samsung Display presented a 17-inch foldable OLED screen. However, laptop devotees are still waiting for future form factors to hit store shelves. Most of the current year’s exciting laptop releases have presented updates to persistent designs. The 17-inch foldable is considered one of the few perfect forefronts remaining in this massively emerging market.

Moreover, some of the major PC manufacturers have also announced they are working on developing 17-inch foldable laptops. The move of Asus will not surprise anybody who is familiar with the company and its strategies. We will discuss the first available device of its kind to hit the market, the ZenBook 17-Fold OLED. It is a 17.3-inch laptop with a half-folding screen.

The ZenBook 17-Fold Features an Elegant OLED

The device mostly works but is not more efficient for spending at least $3,499 when it ships in the 4th quarter. However, there are a number of great features related to this device. The device features an elegant OLED with remarkable colors and it has a very comfortable full-sized keyboard. People will experience an improvement from the latest foldable ThinkPad X1 Fold of Lenovo that was presented in 2020.

People will get more excited with the upcoming foldable devices including its 4:3 17.3-inch tablet. It can become a 3:2 13-inch notebook when horizontally flipped and folded around a 90-degree angle. The device fits perfectly with a built-in keyboard and people will get a little book easily fit into a purse. People will supposedly find a significantly handy device to fit their daily needs.

People Can Horizontally Fold the ZenBook 17-Fold

Meanwhile, people will also discover other ways they could use it. People can fold it horizontally and hold it similarly to a book. They supposedly need it to use some ideal and specific apps. It would enable users to use it in Extended Mode. People can fold it into the shape of a normal laptop. They can use the top half as a primary screen and the bottom half as a secondary screen.

People will also find it as a larger Netflix-viewing machine. But there were 2 overwhelming and useful ways to use the ZenBook 17-Fold. You can unfold the thing if you need a larger screen that stunned the built-in kickstand. People can also use the Bluetooth keyboard on the surface of the desk in front of it. Users can flip the screen vertically and fold it into a laptop shape to use it on their bed or couch.

Windows Can Automatically Compress the Top Screen

Users can also flatten the kickstand and change the keyboard over the bottom half. However, Windows automatically compresses to the top screen once the keyboard is on. The foldable panel of the device is designed for 30,000 open/ close cycles. It theoretically seems excellent if users are opening and closing the device at least 10 times a day. It will significantly enhance its life cycle for around 8 years.

Asus also confirmed that the suggested 8 years lifespan refers to a full open/ close cycle. However, the repositioning of the screen angle will not include that total. We have experienced reports about foldable phones crimping after an insufficient short amount of time. Most people often open a phone many more times daily compared to opening and closing a laptop.
