Marcos Junior is known as Bongbong

Analysts said he is recently known as Bongbong through social media platforms in the Philippines. He is the son and eponym of the former powerful leader Ferdinand Marcos Senior. The human rights maltreatment and raiding of the state reserves destroyed his 21-year government. On Monday, the former senator acknowledged his supporters in a speech for their opinion and support.

Marcos Jr. said he can’t wait to thank all of his supporters, for their belief and to join the battle. He led on a platform of unity during his campaign. He also promised to control inflation, offer more jobs, and massive investments in infrastructure and agriculture sectors. Some analysts said Marcos Jr. appealed to Filipinos to participate in the political process.

He also promised economic reforms and progress from successive administrations because the former administration failed to benefit Filipinos. Sara Duterte Carpio is the running mate of Marcos for vice president and the daughter of famous leader Rodrigo Duterte. A large number of their supporters need to see the continuing policies of Rodrigo Duterte, including the war on drugs.

Unofficial and incomplete election results have shown Duterte Caprio is also reaching the victory stand for the vice president. It is noteworthy that the selection of the president and the vice president takes place separately in the Philippines. However, the supporters of Ferdinand Marcos Junior have started celebrating after the unofficial results of the 2022 Presidential Elections.

The Supporters of Marcos started celebrations

The recent partial results have shown his massive lead over competitors. On May 9, the supporters of Marcos Junior gathered outside the headquarters of the candidate in Mandaluyong City, Philippines. Caprio positioned herself as elevating good governance, human rights, and transparency during her entire campaign. She said that they haven’t yet done it and are just beginning.

Caprio also said they are starting something never experienced before in the entire history of the country. She said it is a campaign led by the people of the Philippines. An army of citizen volunteers drove her remarkable campaign by visiting door to door and asking for votes. Her rallies have shown continuously increasing hundreds of thousands of people.

Marcos Junior used the Rise Again slogan in Campaigns

Moreover, Marcos Junior linked his campaign to the footprint of his father with his slogan Rise Again. The supporters of his family said the period of Marcos Senior was more progressive with prosperity. One supporter mentioned the construction of key infrastructures such as bridges, roads, and hospitals. However, critics said the foreign loans, ballooning debt, and massive corruption motivated those projects.

The family of Marcos repeatedly refused allegations of using state funds for their personal interests under martial law. A People Power revolution stumbled upon Macros Senior’s regime in 1986. A large number of people were killed, imprisoned, and tortured during the 1972-1981 martial law period. Marcos Senior died 3-years later in expulsion but his family came back in 1991 and became powerful politicians and wealthy.
